RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL


A ONE DAY WORKSHOP (in a class room environment) TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE NATIONALLY RECOGNISED UNIT OF COMPETENCY

Date: 16/7/2014    9.00am to 3.00pm - Cost: $75
Responsible practices must be undertaken wherever alcohol is served and sold, including where alcohol samples are served during on-site product tastings. This unit, therefore, applies to any workplace where alcohol is served and sold, including all types of hospitality venues, retail liquor outlets and wineries, breweries and distilleries.

In South Australia in order to serve and sell liquor you need to be registered with the SA Liquor Licensing Commission as a ‘Responsible Person’.  Part of this involves having successfully completed the unit SITHFAB201 Provide responsible service of alcohol
The unit incorporates the knowledge requirements, under the South Australian liquor licensing law, for employees engaged in the sale or service of alcohol. Topics dealt with include:
·                          Sell or serve alcohol responsibly.
·                          Assist customers to drink within appropriate limits.
·                          Assess alcohol affected customers and identify customers to whom sale or service must be refused.
·                          Refuse to provide alcohol where appropriate.

Qualifications Issued

Satisfactory completion of the workshop activities and the self-paced project will meet the competency requirements of the unit SITHFAB201

Provide responsible service of alcohol and successful participants will receive a Statement of Attainment.
