There has been a growing awareness in Australia that language, literacy and numeracy skills need to be addressed not only at school but also in the workplace and in vocational education and training. TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills will become a core unit of the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment in July 2014. The unit aims to improve the skills of trainers in providing the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to recognise the core language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) demands of training and assessment, to access relevant support resources and to tailor training and assessment to suit individual skill levels.

self-paced project participants will deal with:
- Determining LLN requirements of qualifications and
units
- Determining learners’ LLN skills and requirements
- Accessing specialist assistance
- Selecting and customising learning materials
appropriate to LLN requirements
- Applying learning support strategies to develop core
LLN skills
Satisfactory completion of the workshop activities and the
self-paced project will meet the competency requirements of the TAELLN4II Address
adult language, literacy and numeracy skills and successful participants
will receive a Statement of Attainment.
